Acorn Building specialise in residential and commercial building and construction projects. We pride ourselves on both the form and function of our finished work along with the trust we build with our clients from quotation to completion.

Background

Colin & Clare Laycock founded Acorn Building Solutions in 2010 after 15 years immersed in Sydney’s building and construction industry. Now with 25 years of experience transforming clients dreams into reality, the Acorn Building team are well placed to deliver a customised, personalised and high-quality outcome across a range of construction projects.

Acorn Building has been built organically through trust and respect, which is evident in our long-term association with many clients, who continue to engage or refer Acorn Building for repeat building projects. This creates approachability and an honest relationship with clients, who feel confident they are in good hands.

Colin is the Director of Acorn Building Services Pty Ltd and brings over 20 years’ experience in residential building and commercial building projects. Colin is a well-respected member of the local community and is known for his approachable and transparent style, which is a winning combination with the backing of a highly skilled team.
Colin has worked on a diverse range of building construction projects including:

Architectural residential projects of up to $1.7m,
Government education and railway works,
Major office, church, school and TAFE projects of up to $6m
Office, shop, broadcasting studios, and café refurbishments and fit outs of up to $1.2m, and
Campsite refurbishment of $400k.

He is well known for his keen eye for detail and is fastidious when it comes to delivering quality construction projects to his clients.

From contract signing right through to completion you will have access to:

  • Project budget information including impact of approved variations, payments to date and balance owing
  • Regular logs of the building progress
  • Images of progress with the ability to comment or ask questions
  • Ability to message staff
  • Online variation system
